Tucked along the Kohala coast lies beautifully secluded Starseed Ranch. Surrounded by green rolling hills, abundant gardens and uniquely crafted architecture, you will be able to immerse in rejuvenation, healing and learning while enjoying modern comforts.

Starseed Ranch is a short 15-minute drive from historic Hawi Town, at the ‘end of the road’ near Pololu Valley. Our 26-acre estate is completely off-grid, run by hydro-electric and solar systems. Throughout the beautifully landscaped grounds, you will find balinese-style buildings and covered walkways, group meeting spaces and a diverse tropical orchard and farm. We offer several lodging options including private cabins, glamping platform tents, and individual or group tent camping. We can accommodate up to 15 overnight guests (possibly more with camping options). The center of the ranch features lodging, kitchen, dining, classroom/movement space and a bathhouse. Starseed is a special and unique destination. The land here is filled with mana and natural beauty, providing the perfect setting for your next adventure or personal transformational journey.

Farmer in Residency Program

Are you looking for an opportunity to truly immerse yourself in nature? Interested in learning more about the Regenerative Farming movement? Seeking experience living an off-grid lifestyle to build skills for radical self-reliance and homesteading?

Our Farmer in Residency Program offers a month-long opportunity to truly reconnect with yourself in the present moment, disconnect from the chaos of modern-day living, and experience the abundance of North Kohala, Hawai’i. In collaboration with our nonprofit farm HIP Agriculture, we welcome up to 10 guests at a time to join us for an inspiring educational 30-day program. This year Farmer Residency sessions will be offered in May and October. This month-long program provides our guests with the opportunity to live and interact amongst our 26-acre regenerative organic farm.

The monthly program includes:

Lodging

Private hale (cottage) with access to shared outdoor kitchen and bathhouse. Weekly housekeeping service.

Amenities

Access to high-speed WiFi, yoga and movement studio, meditation hut, yard games, firepit & bbq

Farm to Table

Farm fresh ingredients available for purchase to prepare meals in our open air kitchen. Weekly farm to table events available with advance reservation.

Yoga

Weekly yoga class, suitable for all levels. Additional/private yoga or massage sessions available by appointment.

Farming

Weekly volunteer opportunities on our working farm. Gain hands-on experience in market gardening, agroforestry and permaculture.

Workshops

Weekly agriculture or cultural education class. Rotating topics include Plant Medicine Making, Beekeeping and more.

Accommodations include a private or shared room in our Balinese-inspired eco-lodging facilities (see details here), access to a shared open-air chef’s kitchen, Balinese bathhouse, access to our beautiful grounds/fruit orchards, yoga and movement studio, fire pit, meditation hut, and weekly housekeeping service. Each week, Farmers in Residence will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities on the HIP Agriculture farm, yoga classes, and educational workshops on various agriculture and homesteading topics. This includes two set weekdays to volunteer on our farm for several hours and is completely optional. We highly recommend all Farmers in Residence explore the island of Hawaii independently and check out some other farms during your time here as well! Remember, this is your personal farm retreat.

Cost

Packages start at $3,995 per person / $4,495 per couple (for 30-day farm stay) and include everything listed above.

Transportation

We encourage all of our residents to make arrangements for personal transportation as we are located in a rural area, and recommend renting a car through either Turo or Priceline from Kona-Kailua Airport.
